The Journal of Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development (JAISD) is pleased to announce that the submission deadline for its special issue on Artificial Intelligence in the Justice Sector has been extended until October 31, 2025.
This special issue will explore how AI is reshaping legal systems, judicial institutions, and the daily work of legal professionals around the world.
Chaired by Catherine Régis (Full Professor, Faculty of Law, University of Montreal; Canada Research Chair in Health Law and Policy; Canada-CIFAR Chair in AI), alongside Jake Okechukwu Effoduh (Assistant Professor, Lincoln Alexander School of Law, Toronto Metropolitan University) and Cristina Godoy Bernardo de Oliveira (Professor of Law, Ribeirão Preto Law School, University of São Paulo), the issue invites contributions addressing AI’s role in:
- Access to justice and procedural fairness
- Judicial efficiency and independence
- Case studies of AI implementation in courts and tribunals
- Ethical governance and accountability frameworks
- Collaborative models between AI developers and legal professionals
The editorial team encourages interdisciplinary and practice-based submissions from scholars, legal practitioners, technologists, and policymakers globally.
